KODIAK KUDOS

Prior to our trip to the village, we visited Kodiak Island for the very first time. My friend, Lydia, was a tour guide extrodinaire. We hiked mountains, toured museums, explored awesome beaches . . . it was a grand time. One of the more memorable excursions was our picnic at Fossil Beach. We met up with Alan and Linda Ross (missionaries in Kodiak), packed up some beans and weenies and headed out for a lovely day trip. True to the fickleness of Alaskan weather, we ended up having our picnic in the rain. But we loved exploring the beach, which was filled with fossil-encrusted shells and other sea-life. A few small stones now grace my garden.
And remind me of my lovely time with Lydia on her beautiful island!
